Exodus 7-14
Reflection:
What can we study from the 10 disasters? The first one is the presence of God in the every incident as what is found in the verse saying, "Egypt will know that I am the Lord"(Exo. 7:5), "By this you will know that I am the Lord."(Exo. 7:17), "you may know there is no one like the Lord our God"(Exo. 8:10), (Exo. 9:14). It might be expressed as that there is no one like God in all of the earth to those who is believing there is only god of Pharaoh.
The second one is that God called Israelites as "My people". Moses said to Pharaoh, "The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to say to you; Let my people go so that they may worship me in the desert."(Exo. 7:16) The Lord declared that Israel is My people by Himself those, who Pharaoh had believed is his own slaves. And He has proved to His own people with His special care, as there was big disaster in the place of Goshen where Israelites has lived, but He has kept them safe from it.
Third one is to teach His people salvation through faith and distinction His people. While the ten disasters occurred, the last one is death of firstborn, Then the Lord teach Moses how the Lord strike down Egyptians. If Israelite put the blood of lamb on the top and sides of the doorframe, then He will pass over that doorway to save His people. Israelites has believed God's instruction and obeyed through Moses even though he would be suspected for saving clearly, finally they avoided the severe disaster.
Nowadays, how about you?. The Gospel was proclaimed, which Jesus died on the Cross for our sin to save people those who believe this. Then, even though we could not see Jesus crucified on the cross for our sin of forgiveness, how are you willing to accept His sacrifice and obey on His words?
