Hope In The Life Of A Believer

God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. Rev 21:4. Have you come to a point in your Christian life that you think that being a Christian is hard? But the Bible says that, "when you come to Him, His yoke is easy and His burden is light." (Matt 11:28) Why is it hard then?As the Bible says in Matt 7:1, "Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it." The world is a hard place to enjoy God as our most valued treasure. Around us are people who will really look at you differently for not wanting the things of this world, and sometimes hate you for it. (Luke 21:17).

The Narrow Gate

Have you come to a point in your Christian life that you think that being a Christian is hard? But the Bible says that, "when you come to Him, His yoke is easy and His burden is light." (Matt 11:28) Why is it hard then?As the Bible says in Matt 7:1, "Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it." The world is a hard place to enjoy God as our most valued treasure. Around us are people who will really look at you differently for not wanting the things of this world, and sometimes hate you for it. (Luke 21:17).

Genuine Joy

However in the writings of the disciples, they are never thinking this way. "So they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name.(Acts 5:4) Their joy is genuine, and nothing can take that away from them.

Temporary Trials

At the end of the life of one of the disciples, he wrote that "though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials". He go through a lot, but instead of feeling regret or shame, he described it as "filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy" in 1 Peter 1:8. You will know that he really took to heart the teaching of Jesus to them in (Luke 10:20) Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.

Death And Suffering No More

He concluded that the reason behind this joy, even in the midst of suffering, is the salvation that we have in Jesus. In the same way, we can also hope in Him, and join the disciples before us as Jesus invites us in the last day. "To those who eats his flesh and drink his blood has eternal life and on the last day he will raise us up" (John 6:54). And on that day, "God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away" (Revelation 21:4)
