Never Forgotten

We are never forgotten for Christ was given. Let our hope be in Him alone, and our faith be not shaken. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. (1 Peter 1:3-5)

Scripture:

But God will never forget the needy;
the hope of the afflicted will never perish. (Psalm 9:18 NIV)

When we think that God seems to forget, let us take time to evaluate; perhaps, it is us who forgot.** Maybe we disremember who He is, what kind of God He is, and how He works. It can be that we fail to keep in mind who Jesus Christ, the living Son of God, the Messiah is, and what He has done for us.

God's Way

We believe in a God of unfathomable ways. So in the situation where our logic runs out of reason, He is indeed at work.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. (Isaiah 55:8)

Moving forward, let us always be careful where or whom we invest our hope. We can always place our confidence to anyone or anything else; our job, our closest friend, etc. Thus, we always end up disappointed.

Hope Is In Him Alone

People will always frustrate us, but Christ won’t. Worldly things won’t always meet our expectation, but God will; He will even exceed them. Hope is in Him alone.

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)

Now, if we see ourselves in troubling circumstances, let us be delighted. Blessed are we if we find ourselves in great need, for He never forgets the poor. So praise God even when it is inconvenient. Bow down to Him even when we don’t feel like to. Worship must not be based on our emotions; it must not be circumstantial.

Suffering Produces Endurance

Probably, these struggles are God’s way of answering our prayers. We asked Him for strength, He gave us trials instead to toughen us and build our identity in Christ who is our only hope that will never fail.

Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. (Romans 5:3-5)

Man's Greatest Need

Know that we are all in need and are afflicted. The greatest need that we have to fulfill is the need of our sins to be forgiven, and our souls to be saved. We are never forgotten by God that is why we found our hope in Christ alone; in His resurrection, and it shall never perish.

Also, God knows the wicked things that we’ve done, but He does not use them against us. Situations may block our sight of Him, and we tend to succumb to temptations. We may also think that we are too sinful that we feel ashamed of calling to Him. He may had seen us with our sins, but He does not look on this as a ground to leave us, but rather a reason to provide a way for salvation.

Again, there is hope, and it is in Christ alone.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)

So let us stop being anxious of the things we can’t take control of. Luke 12:25 states, “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?”

As what the song "Amazing Grace" mentions, we may seem empty-handed, but we are not forsaken. We all would get through whatever trying situation we are in victoriously and renewed. May we all be reminded of what the Bible teaches us in Philippians 4:13, that we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength.

We are never forgotten for Christ was given. Let our hope be in Him alone, and our faith be not shaken.

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
(Hebrews 10:23)
