Nothing To Be Afraid Of

Knowing God, who He is, what He had done, and what He can still do, we build the confidence so that we have nothing to be afraid of. There is something built when we come to know God; relationship. As we spend more time with Him, He get to reveal more of who He is, giving us further reasons to place our trust in Him. Thus, there is something built as we become more intimate with Him; assurance. There is confidence in knowing Christ.

Scripture:

The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid?
When evildoers assail me
to eat up my flesh,
my adversaries and foes,
it is they who stumble and fall.
Though an army encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear;
though war arise against me,
yet I will be confident. (Psalm 27:1-3)

There is something built when we come to know God; relationship. As we spend more time with Him, He get to reveal more of who He is, giving us further reasons to place our trust in Him. Thus, there is something built as we become more intimate with Him; assurance. There is confidence in knowing Christ.

Confidence To Fully Surrender

Knowing that God is in control of everything, we build the confidence to give Him the full authority to take over the helm of our lives unafraid of being misled.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Confidence To Love

Knowing that God Himself is love, we build the confidence to love others unafraid of not being loved back.

We love because He first loved us. (1 John 4:19)

Confidence To Be Humble

Knowing that God will exalt the humble, we build the confidence to think less of ourselves unafraid of being seen weak and being belittled.

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. (James 4:10)

Confidence To Face Uncertainties

Knowing that God delivers, we build the confidence to go to the great unknown unafraid of encountering trials ahead.

and call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me. (Psalm 50:15)

And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. (1 Peter 5:10)

Confidence To Proclaim The Gospel

Knowing that it is God who we represent, we build the confidence to declare Him unafraid of being mocked and persecuted.

Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. (Matthew 28:19-20)

Reminder:

Though somehow synonymous, the confidence that we form in knowing Christ does not share the same idea with the complacency that the enemy entice us with.

Knowing God, He did not promise that we believers would live a life of comfort. Rather, He solemnly pledge to be with us, though sometimes not seen and not felt, all through out. He is our light, our salvation, and the stronghold of our life, there is nothing that we should be afraid of.

Knowing God, who He is, what He had done, and what He can still do, we build the confidence so that we have nothing to be afraid of.

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26)
