Scripture:
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving” (Colossians 3:23-24)Living In Him Is Our Identity - John Reynald Aguas
He gave us our identity when Jesus let us receive the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit is our mark of adoption as God’s children.
Since we belong to Christ, we have a new life, and a new being. - Jaime Legaspino
“Set your minds on things that are above, not on the things that are on earth.” (Colossians 3:2)
“We no longer conduct ourselves according to our own minds or flesh but through the leading of the Holy Spirit. Be Holy.” –Kerziah Mabanglo
Living For Him Is Our Identity
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving” (Colossians 3:23-24)It's not about what we do, It's about who we do it for!
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving” (Colossians 3:23-24)
So we make it our goal to please God… (2 Corinthians 5:9)
If our goal is living to please men, we end up dying not pleasing them and we end up living in contrary to our identity in Christ.
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving” (Colossians 3:23-24)
“And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory” (Ephesians 1:13).
Since our identity is living for God, then we ought to work, not for men, but for God.
