Real Love

As love being the foundation of a Christian, this two love that we need to demonstrate is the love for the lost and the love for the found. As mentioned in Matthew 22:37-39 37 Jesus replied,” You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ 38  This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: ‘ Love your neighbor as yourself.’

Scripture:

John 21:15-19

Reflection:

In this passage God calls us to be shepherds of men. What is it to be a shepherd of men?

Being a shepherd of men is being accountable to one another. It is us loving a fellow Christian despite of his circumstances. We as an accountable person for each other must help those who is being lost in their faith because of some circumstances.

This passage gives us the direction on loving the lost. We are to reach out to them just as Jesus has reached out to those people that is conformed in this world's deception. It may be full of hardships, but that is what being a Christian is all about.

By reaching out to those who are lost, we also learn to humble ourselves and love more. What those people needed is our love and understanding. That is what Jesus wants us to do in order for others to be saved also.

19 Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish people!” (Matthew 4:19)

This is the love for those who is found. It is seen when we continuously seek those people who doesn’t receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior yet. Basically, we are obliged to lend them hand and be their guide to receiving Christ.

We are not just called to be shepherds of men but also fishers of men. Then, What should we do to be the fishers of men? As fishers of men, we are ought to lead and guide them to understanding the Word of God. We are not to force them, but to gradually let them know how God loved them. This form of love for others is full of struggles as it will test your patience and discipline on not to give up on the person that needed God’s care the most.

As love being the foundation of a Christian, this two love that we need to demonstrate is the love for the lost and the love for the found. As mentioned in Matthew 22:37-39 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

As implied in these verses the commandments given to us by Jesus Christ is built upon LOVE. All that we are doing must be and should be founded in the love that we have for God.

Conclusion:

The love that is forced upon someone will crumble as a castle build in sand, but the love that is given by God will never perish, rather will be like a rock that can withstand any calamity.
