The Father's Love

Scripture:

"A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, Is God in His holy habitation. God sets the solitary in families; He brings out those who are bound into prosperity; But the rebellious dwell in a dry land." (Psalms 68:5-6 NKJV)

Reflection:

These verses remind me of how personal the Lord is in His relationship with us, and how He becomes and provides everything that we need.

If we need guidance, protection, and provision, He is the one who will father us. If we grieve seeking for a purpose to live, He hands it over to us along with a renewal of heart and mind. If we feel lonely, He gives companion by Himself and even lead us to a place of belongingness. If we are chained, He delivers freedom.

That is God in His "holy habitation". God dwells in each of us, therefore it is our obligation to be holy as He is. Where God is, His rules apply. So if we allow Him to inhabit in us, we obey His commands which He laid down in His Word. Through this, we remain under the sanctuary of His grace.

But if we tend to disobey those that He instructed of us to follow, we have to endure an arid settlement where we don't experience the richness of His love. For sure, we wouldn't be wanting it.

The choice is ours. Either we remain in the presence of God, or suffer in His absence.
