'From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."' Matthew 4:17

1. Changing one's mind

"Metanoeo" - this is; the original word for repentance. It means "changing" their minds and hearts, that their works is wrong and their deeds. It means turning away from sins to God.

"Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the righteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon." Isaiah 55:6-7

"for we all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)

2. Come back to original position

"The people whom I formed for myself, they shall declare my praise." Isaiah 43:21

"Having the form of godliness, but denying its power. And from such people you should turn away." 2 Timothy 3:5

3. Turn away from the value of the world to the value of heaven

"Don't love the world or things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him." 1 John 2:15

"Not everyone who say to me, 'Lord, Lord' shall enter the kingdom of heaven. But he who does the will of my Father in heaven." Matthew 7:21
