Magnify Jesus

Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Read: Acts 19:11-20

Magnify-to make (something) greater. : to make (something) seem greater or more important than it is. : to make (something) appear larger. For example, ship from afar looks smaller, but when you come closer, it appears to be greater, it is being magnified in your eyes.

It can be the same with our relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ, if we keep ourselves distant with Him, if He is not being magnified in our lives, we will not see His beauty, we will not know Him for who He is. Then we will see our problems, trials, temptation, hardships bigger than Him.

We don’t need to have a problem when we are to come to Him. We have to come to Him, we have to worship him, behold/gaze upon Him.

Let us not worship our man-made version of Jesus, your version of Him, that’s why we mess up with many of our decisions because sometimes the Jesus we know is the Jesus we made, for example, it’s okay for me to give in to these temptations, God is gracious, where in fact when talking about sin, He says we have dominion, power over it, He is our strength, our deliverance, He has given us empowering grace.

Even the exorcists use the name of Jesus in casting out demons.

How can Jesus be magnified in our lives?

1. Have an intimate relationship with Him.

-the demons did not see the blood of Jesus/authority on the exorcists and the seven sons of Sceva.

God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says, and he has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. (1 Corinthians 1:9)

-you cannot be close/intimate with someone who is not in a relationship with you.

-but not all relationship has intimacy

-relationship costs His life, intimacy costs our time. If we want to have intimacy with God, we should spend time with Him.

-intimacy should be our goal, we should be more in love with Him over time.

-our Christian life is not a game, it is a life to live. We don’t stop with confession, we take action.

-Satan will do everything to distract you, to make you busy on some good things that will neglect the most important One. He will set all those traps so that we will not fellowship with God.

-do you feel excited?

-take me, God, You’re so good.

2. Draw near to Him.

-in the old testament, they did not enjoy God’s presence as we do except for some heroes of faith or those who walk with God like David, Enoch, Abraham. They need a high priest and a tabernacle.

Exodus 25:8 Let them make for me a sanctuary, so that I may live among them.

-drawing near to God without dropping dead is a privilege.

-you have access to the King of kings and the Lord of lords.

If we fail to do these things, don’t worry, the time is coming and is now near that Jesus will be magnified to all.

Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor

and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9-11)
