The Worry-free Life

"Whatever you do, do it from the heart for the Lord and not for people. You know that you will receive an inheritance as a reward. You serve the Lord Christ.

Scripture:

Therefore, don’t worry and say, ‘What are we going to eat?’ or ‘What are we going to drink?’ or ‘What are we going to wear?’  Gentiles long for all these things. Your heavenly Father knows that you need them.  Instead, desire first and foremost God’s kingdom and God’s righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (Matthew 6:31-33 CEB)

Observation:

We were taught that food, water and clothes are our primary needs in life to survive. Every day we strive just to have these things. And sometimes we tend to work harder than ever and forget everything else just to get these things.

We tend to forget about living in the moment that God is giving us. We bombard ourselves with questions of how to achieve these needs for ourselves and families and eventually stress ourselves on how to deal with them.

It's not that these are not important. God is telling us not to worry about these things, not because He will make these magically appear in front of us but because He will give us the capability to meet our own needs.

It's not that we don't need to think about these things, rather we need to prioritize God above all these things. That's because God is the One who provides. God tells us to seek him first and foremost above everything else.

We work for these primary needs but let's not forget that God is telling us not to just merely do the work to gain these things.

The Bible says in Colossians 3:23-24, "Whatever you do, do it from the heart for the Lord and not for people. You know that you will receive an inheritance as a reward. You serve the Lord Christ."

We are not to work just for the sake of doing our designated tasks but to work with a passion for the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Do your best and God will do the rest. Seek him first. Always.
